Established in 1972 by Alphonse J. Calvanico, P.E., the firm was built on a strong foundation of technical expertise and public service experience. Prior to founding the company, Mr. Calvanico held key roles in City service, including serving as Chief Engineer of the Staten Island Water Department.

Under the later leadership of Peter Calvanico, P.E., the firm entered a new era of growth and distinction, formally evolving into Calvanico Associates Architects and Engineers (CA). Peter’s vision, technical excellence, and commitment to integrated design and engineering strengthened the firm’s reputation and expanded its capabilities across multiple disciplines. Through his leadership, CA grew into one of Staten Island’s premier architectural and engineering firms, known for delivering thoughtful, high-quality solutions to a diverse clientele ranging from individual homeowners to large-scale commercial and industrial developers.
